What is the best way to make the HCG Shake?
I’ve been asked this question a few times now, so having used the HCG shake for over a year, I decided to pass on my experience. I use the shake not just as part of an HCG diet regimen, but also to help maintain a healthy weight after the HCG diet.
First, I love the shake as cold as I can make it. Once, on a whim, I decided to try the shake with hot water – I was thinking hot chocolate yummy! But that didn’t work out very well. For some reason the flavor that I love cold just didn’t work for me hot. Because of this, I always use ice whenever I make the shake.
My preferred method of making the HCG Shake is to have my 5th grade daughter do it for me every morning. Hey its so easy even a 5th grader can do it! You can call me lazy, but she loves to make things in the kitchen, and she seem to enjoy making a shake for me and my wife every morning. I’ll try to video her making the shake and post it here so you can see it. She puts a couple of cubes of ice into the blender with just enough cold water to fill the blender up to the 12 ounce mark. Then she blends the ice and water together. Once the ice and water are being blended together, she taps in two scoops of the HCG Shake powder and about 30 seconds later I have an ice cold shake ready to get me through another morning.
I also often use the shake for lunch. I really believe that planning ahead and making your diet convenient are some of the key components of making any diet work. Sadly, I haven’t found a way take my daughter and a blender to work with me every day
. So I had to come up with a solution that would work well for me and be convenient as well. I tried taking a bottle of the HCG Shake powder to work and keeping it in my desk. Then I’d just stirring the shake powder into a glass of water with ice. The result was ok, but not even close to as good as what my daughter was making for me every morning. The powder doesn’t dissolve as well, and tended to clump around the ice. I didn’t want to get rid of the ice because I love the HCG Shake even better when it is ice cold.  I went to the big box retailer down the road from my office, and found a solutions.  Oddly enough, the solution was both simple and cheap. Here is a picture of my solution:
I got a three pack of Ziploc(r) Twist n’ Loc(r) just like this for less than $4. Now when I’m planning my meals for the next day, I have a great way to take the HCG Shake on the road with me. before I used these containers, I measured out 12 ounces of water into the container and used a permanent marker to make a mark on the side. It already has a mark for 1 cup, but I like more than one cup of water in my shake. I honestly don’t use the mark anymore because I’m familiar enough with the container to know when it has the right amount of water in it. When I’m planning my meals, and I know I need a shake at work or anywhere on the go, I just put two scoops of powder into one of these cups, screw the lid on, and I’m ready to go. At work (or I’ve even just walked into a service station while traveling) I get a few pieces of ice out of the ice machine, put them in the container and then fill it with water until the mark is covered. Then I put the lid back on and shake the container (I can even shake it upside down!) to mix the powder into the water. Shaking the container (especially with ice in it), works very well. I get a smooth, evenly mixed, ice-cold shake. When I’m done, I just rinse the container with water and take it home to run through the dishwasher. Its perfect for taking a serving of the HCG Shake on the go.
This method of taking the shake on the go works so well for me, that I also keep one of these containers in my car all the time just in case I end up working late or having some other type of emergency. For me, that is when my diets breakdown. I don’t have an emergency plan and it is easy to justify running through that fast-food drive through – its an emergency after all – instead of sticking to my plan. Now when some emergency hits, I have a backup shake to get me through it until I can get back home and prepare the right kind of food.

Hello,
What is the caloric value of each serving?
thank you,
The shake has 122 calories.
Does the 122 calories count in the 500 calorie diet?
Yes the 122 calories count in the 500 you are allowed with the diet.
If the calories from the shake are part of the 500 calorie diet? How do you work that out? If you drink coffee or water for breakfast or also eat an apple ect., then you have lunch the 4oz of chicken and 2cups of veggies. then you have dinner equal to lun ch how can the shake at 122 calories fit in?
Do you need to drop lunch or dinner if you have a shake?
Or do you have lunch and partially have a shake and veggies or what? please explain???
The shake is intended to replace a meal while you are on the HCG diet. Some people have used it to replace two meals a day.
How many servings are there in a carton? How many times can I use it before it runs out?
Each bottle has 15 servings. Some people prefer to do 1.5 scoops instead of the full 2 scoops. That leaves you with a 100 calorie shake and 20 servings per bottle. I prefer the full 2 scoops.
How many carbs are in one serving of the meal replacement
The shake has 8 grams of carbs. 7 of those carbs come from dietary fiber. The fiber is broken down into 3 grams of insoluble fiber and 4 grams of soluble fiber. If you count net carbs, that leaves you at 1 net carb per serving.
Can you take the shake with skim milk? Or would that add to your calorie count?
The skim milk will increase your calories, so it probably isn’t the way to go while you are one the HCG diet. Many people use the shake off the HCG diet to help maintain their weight. If you are doing that, milk would probably be fine.
I’ve never tried the shake with milk instead of water. With water it has a creamy taste and texture so it never really occurred to me to try milk.
Do you use HCG drops or injections with the shakes per Dr Simeon’s plan? It would be so easy to buy the HCG drops, drink the shakes, and lose the weight per Dr. S’s plan without all the fuss over the food. Also, do you do all the other things like no conditioner, lotions, etc? That seems so extreme, but I really want to lose the weight… (40 lbs).
Thank you for your help!
We’ve worked with people who use both injections and drops. The shake is great with either one. We’ve also had many people use the shake for two meals a day, then finish the day with an HCG meal. After two shakes a day, you have 224 calories left for your dinner. I’m not familiar with anyone using the shake three times a day. Those who use it twice, have great results.
